We want to reward followers of our blog with a first showing of a video we’re releasing in conjunction with our e-book. We’ll be officially promoting both very soon, which is exciting for us since together they represent hundreds of hours of work.
Our hope is that with the video and the e-book, we’ll be able to complement some of our prior work, like memes, with more substance. The truth is, memes can only articulate so much about the current state of Wall Street and Washington. Some of these financial concepts simply require a longer form to fully explain, which is why we’ve taken everything we’ve learned from our reading list and condensed it into an e-book.
We hope it will be useful to the public, and that it will help people understand the difference between investment banking (i.e. Wall Street) and traditional, consumer-facing banking (which doesn’t deal with derivatives). In this sense, we’re following the tradition of writers like Matt Taibbi or Michael Lewis—writers who synthesize their research about Wall Street for a wider audience.
The e-book is currently in the process of being approved by Amazon, which is the most convenient platform for e-readers.
Enjoy this first showing, and stay tuned for the full release (at which time we’ll show an updated version and share it on social networks).
